Hey, welcome back.
Apart from sharing my Morning Thoughts (which I’d write every day anyway, even without this newseltter), I’ve been ruminating on what else to write here. So I had an idea. Let me explain…
The concept of Negative Capability was introduced by the Romantic poet John Keats. It’s the ability to embrace uncertainty, mystery, and doubt without the restless need to reach for facts and reason. Keats believed that this ability was crucial for creative minds, allowing artists, writers, and thinkers to delve into the depths of their imagination and creativity without being constrained by the logical rigidity of the objective world.
But nobody has been able to define it. So I’ll be doing it (I know, pretentious 😆).
Every Wednesday from next week, I’ll be sharing my own definition of Negative Capability through a different lense. Whether it’s from my work as a conversion copywriter, or from my fitness and meditation journey, or even from silly stuff that happens in my day-to-day.
It’ll be my way of creating some space, pause and think about how we can all get better at this intangible but useful skill.
I call these “Pathways”.
Because each of us should and will find their own path toward negative capability.
I can only share the one I’m taking.
Hope you enjoy. Stay tuned.
